What You Get From Scent Work
A class that fits any dog and meets you wherever you want to take it — pure enrichment or full-on competition.
Mental Enrichment That Works
Nose work tires dogs in the way physical exercise can't. Perfect for high-drive breeds, senior dogs, and reactive dogs who need a job that doesn't require interacting with other dogs.
Confidence for Shy Dogs
Searching is an autonomous activity — the dog leads, the human follows. Anxious and under-confident dogs blossom because every find is a win they earned themselves.
A Sport Any Dog Can Win
From beginner intro classes through AKC Scent Work and NACSW trial prep. Three-legged dogs, senior dogs, and reactive dogs all compete and title in this sport.

Common Questions
Less than most classes. Your dog needs to be comfortable in a class setting and not reactive toward other dogs at a distance. Strong obedience is not required — searching is largely autonomous. If reactivity is the issue, see Leash Reactivity Intensive first.
Yes — and often better than another walk. The cognitive load of locating odor burns mental energy faster than physical exercise. Many sport dog handlers add scent work specifically because it produces a calmer dog at home.
Absolutely. Scent work is one of the most accessible dog sports — searches can be set at any height, distance, and surface. Three-legged dogs, dogs with hip issues, and dogs over 13 are common in our classes.
Beginner cohorts run in 6-week blocks. Pricing is published with each booking — we don't gate-keep the number. Call 480-595-6700 or check the booking page for the current rate. Most families finish the beginner block and roll straight into Foundations because the dog finally has a job they love.
Yes. Our advanced classes follow both AKC Scent Work and NACSW (National Association of Canine Scent Work) rules so you can move directly from class into trials. We also host trial prep sessions before major events.
